Bali Full Day Tour – Magical East Bali
We start the tour from your hotel and drive to our first stop which is Kerta Gosa building. Here you will see the magnificent 18th century pavilion where in past time was functioned as a judicial court by the ruling royal families.
From the picturesque Kerta Gosa we will go to Goa Lawah (lit. Bat Cave) Temple where thousands of fruit bats inhabit the natural cavity inside the temple complex -hence the name. This temple was built across the Badung Straight facing directly to Nusa Penida Island and become one of the most important temples in Bali within the Nyegara Gunung (to the Mountain and the Sea) temple concept. Here you can also stop for a while in nearby village to see how the locals harvesting natural salt.
Tour will be continued to the small beach resort in Karangasem Regency; Candidasa. This area is a small village consisting a short boulevard packed with accommodation, restaurants and marine sport operators. Candidasa beach is very famous for its tranquil and clear waters. This area also offer one of the best snorkeling spots in Bali.
Once the break finished in Candidasa we will continue to the next stop that is Tirta Gangga. This royal bathing complex is considered as one of the earliest structure that makes use of the nature of water which flowing from up to below. All of the traditional engineering in this site implemented the above concept to supply fresh water from the nearby lush hill to the lower ground. Here you will also see the assimilation of early modern sculpture casting method used by the then local architect and designer.
On the way back to your hotel we will have another stop. This time we will travel through the capital city of Amlapura where the Taman Ujung Palace is located. Taman Ujung or ‘the garden in the farthermost’ is a summer retreat built by the late King of Karangasem Regency (then a Kingdom). The complex -which was built by combined Dutch and Chinese architects adopting European style as well as Balinese traditional architectural system. Now open for public, this beautiful small palace-garden is considered as one of the most sought place by architecture enthusiast.
